BethAnne Klaver grew up in Ohio and Michigan, where she attended Michigan State University. She began her career in education in 2010 working for an AmeriCorps program in Detroit Public Schools. In 2012 she moved to Virginia and began teaching Special Education. She earned her Master’s in Educational Leadership through Old Dominion University. She moved to Williamsburg in 2018 to teach for WJCC Public Schools. BethAnne continues to support students with disabilities in K-12 public schools in her current job with William & Mary’s Training and Technical Assistance Center. She is passionate about inclusion, improving literacy outcomes, and building students’ self-determination skills.
Outside of work, BethAnne is involved in several leadership positions at Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists and is the treasurer of her neighborhood association. She is a certified yoga teacher and loves running. When she does finally sit down, she loves to read.
BethAnne has been married to Sean Klaver since 2011. He is also in education, teaching at West Point High School, Virginia Peninsula Community College, and spends his summer as a coordinator with the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute. They share their home with two dogs and a cat. Whenever possible, they are outside hiking or camping.
BethAnne has been dancing since she learned to walk, and her family has many home movies to prove it. She is excited to be fundraising for two incredibly important local organizations with missions that are near and dear to her heart. She is very grateful to everyone who has contributed and supported her!
