Bill Mutell has lived in Williamsburg for nearly 10 years. He is a retired Army Officer, as well as Senior Vice President and GM at Hewlett Packard in Palo Alto, CA. He is in his seventh and final year as a Board of Directors member at Literacy for Life, where he also tutors. Bill is an avid volunteer to various community and veteran groups, and is a member of four Boards. He is also past president of the James City County Rotary Club. For the past seven years Bill has been an Executive Partner at the College of William and Mary’s Mason Business School, where he also coaches and mentors MBA and undergraduate business students. At Mason, he was a member of the school’s Diversity and Inclusion Council. Bill also lectures on Corporate Strategy and Global Marketing and on C-Suite governance.
Bill is passionate about adult literacy and supporting transitioning military service members, whether it be in assisting them in starting and running a small business or seeking local employment. Although he has no dancing experience, Bill is putting himself out there on stage in recognition to all those who work so hard to achieve a personal goal, as well as those who have survived cancer.
