Bret Schaller is a husband, dad, and Physical Therapist extraordinaire. Originally from South Carolina, he attended Clemson University as an undergrad and then completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Bret has practiced Physical Therapy for the past 12 years with a 1 ½ year hiatus to be a Domestic Engineer and stay home when his daughter who was born during the COVID pandemic. Currently, Bret can be found at Apex Physical Therapy and Movement Center helping patients with Parkinson’s Disease on their mobility, balance, and coordination. He also enjoys working with folks who are recovering from orthopedic surgeries and sport injuries and finding unique solutions to everyday challenges.
Bret has been a Williamsburg resident for the past 13 years and loves the big, “little town” feel of this community. On any given weekend you can find him spending time with his wife, Samantha, and 2 children, Sadie and Quincy, at one of our local parks or community events. Bret also enjoys running, woodworking, fishing, and anything to do with being on or in the water.
While Bret danced in Cotillion many years ago, he is nervous, but excited to be competing in this year’s DWTWS. He hopes all the weeks of practice with his pro, Denise, can help him “up his game” from the chicken dance, he does with his toddlers, to a 50’s dancing star. Most of all, Bret is thrilled to be involved with this community and supporting Literacy for Life and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
