Guilherme Alves Jr, known to most as “Junior,” owns and operates Lakeside Concrete Enterprises Inc.  Originally a native of New York, he moved down to Virginia with his family as a young boy.  Being raised in a strong and supportive Portuguese family, he was taught the value of hard work and the importance of family.  He started concrete work alongside his father and mentor at the age of 15. Between school and soccer, he continued to work alongside his father and eventually run his own crew.  Years later, a job called Colonial Heritage would open up and change his course in life.  After a year of working in Williamsburg, he saw an opportunity to start his own venture and took a leap of faith.    Joined by his brother, Vinson Alves, the two brothers started Lakeside Concrete Enterprises in 2006.  For over 10 years now they have found success and continue to strive and expand their business throughout the Hampton Roads and Richmond areas.

Junior has a strong passion for his family and is very proud of his Portuguese heritage that he teaches, to his three children, Nicholas, Cristiano, and Ava Grace.  Junior and his wife, Sarah, enjoy watching their children grow and love to travel with trips to the beach or adventures back home to Portugal.   With family being his number one priority, he equally shares this passion and love with European soccer.    His knowledge and experience of the game has helped lead him to his new love of coaching.

Junior began coaching for the Tidewater Sharks in 2015 and never looked back.  He coaches for both of his son’s teams and truly enjoys every minute.  Watching his boys and teams achieve success and develop as players has brought him great pride and continues to fuel his love for the game.  He loves being a part of the Williamsburg community, especially the people and friends he has made along the way.
