Paul Rein is an Anesthesiologist in Williamsburg. After finishing his medical internship he became a General Practitioner practicing in Detroit His practice included house calls, delivering babies, and an office practice. After 6 1/2 years he moved to Richmond to do his Anesthesiology residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Upon completion of his training he became an Assistant Professor at MCV, and was Director of Obstetric Anesthesia leaving June of 1986. He moved to Williamsburg and practiced Anesthesia at Riverside Regional Medical Center for 25 years. Paul has been President of the Virginia Society of Anesthesiology, a delegate to the annual American Society of Anesthesiologists meeting, and editor of the quarterly VSA Newsletter. He practices now, doing anesthesia mainly at the Plastic Surgery Center of Hampton Roads, Roger Emery MD office, and occasionally at a Sentara Hospital.
He moved to Williamsburg to take advantage of the golf community at Kingsmill and for the excellent schools. He is most proud of his son and daughter who are self-reliant and successful. He has participated in 7 marathons and 3-century bike races and a solo cross-country bike ride to fundraise for charities that support patients with leukemia or lymphoma. He has 5 family members that have successfully overcome those diseases.
His best dance is when he makes a 60-foot putt on the golf course. And as for dancing to music… only time will tell!
