Yuri Adams is a born and raised Virginian and has lived in Williamsburg for 9 years. Since 2017, she has served as the City of Williamsburg Economic Development Specialist. In this capacity, she manages the department’s Business Retention & Expansion program, acting as staff liaison between the City of Williamsburg and its existing businesses. Additionally, she manages all Economic Development social media and newsletter, administrates the Economic Development Authority grant programs and incentive packages, and maintains the Williamsburg Wayfinder app and the Yes Williamsburg website. She serves on several regional economic development initiatives including The Home-Based Business Resource Fair & Conference and Start Peninsula, an annual entrepreneurial pitching competition.
Yuri’s community involvement includes serving as Chair for ASPIRE Young Professionals of the Williamsburg Business Council, serving as executive secretary on the board of the Occasion for the Arts, and volunteering on the Business Council’s Economic Growth Committee. Yuri is a proud member of the LEAD Greater Williamsburg Class of 2019.
Yuri is also: a self-proclaimed Origami Aficionado, craft beer lover (her husband is a brewer at the Virginia Beer Company), obsessor over all things Hello Kitty, and she is also very bad at trivia. In her free time, she enjoys eating tacos and sushi (not necessarily at the same time), playing board games, watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer reruns and hanging out with her Australian Shepherd Quinn.
